I am Indah (they/them), an illustrator, animation filmmaker and activist storyteller.
I create worlds and stories that contribute to a greater understanding and acceptance of queerness and finding your identity. My work is what I needed to see in media when I was growing up, but what wasn’t shown back then.
I'm a non-binary, Indonesian-Dutch illustrator and filmmaker who translates sketchbooks, diversity, research and music into a colourful universe. By watching my films, I hope to leave you some wonder and enlightenment. I want you to feel possibilities. This is not something I only want to share with others, but is important for myself as well.
My work is associative and explorative and my interests and ambitions scatter all over the place. I like to dive into mythology, intergenerational stories, cultural identity, sexuality and genderstudies. Always carrying my sketchbook and pencils with me, I look for interesting shapes and colours that catch my attention to translate them into my own art universe.
